HudsonNEW ZEALAND CHAMPION ZANZEBERN ACE VENTURI (IMP AUST) H: 4-5 / E: 0-0 NEWS FLASH!! Reserve BEST IN SHOW at the BMDC Specialty Show 2009 From the Veteran Class
Hudson's Critique ; This 8 year old dog amazed me the minute he gaited into the ring. I told his handler to keep him going twice around. He just lifted himself up and off he went reaching well out in front and following well through behind. When he had finished moving around he slowly bounced into a perfect full square stack. He is of very good breed type with very good boning and substance throughout. He has correct markings and a large masculine head. He has a correct scissor bite and his teeth are set square in his strong under jaw. His eyes could be more almond in shape and skull slightly flatter, however this did not detract from his overall expression. He has a strong and moderate length of neck with a well angulated forequarter. His top line flowed very well all the way to his well rounded rump. He has a very good depth of body and is well ribbed back with a very strong and muscular loin, however I would like him a little shorter. Well angulated and strong hindquarter. His feet are short and round but could be more compact. Going away, he has very good breadth in his hindquarter and very clean. His forequarter was strong even and sturdy on the return. He stands full square. He has very good extension and is effortless on the move, topped off with a superb friendly temperament. This dog was also handled in Junior handlers at the end of the show with a young girl . He did everything asked of him and this just showed that his temperament is the epitome of the breed. It was easy to award him DOG CHALLENGE AND “RUNNER UP BEST EXHIBIT IN SHOW”.
Best Dog, Best Veteran & Reserve Best in Specialty Show 2009
Hudson is one of 14 born in the Turi x Chicca litter in 2001. I hadn't intended to get a boy from the combination but I was hearing such nice things from American breeders who had used Turi, that I thought, well why not?! He was the tiniest of the whole litter, but far too exquisite to ignore! He was a very stubborn and sooky pup who took ages to walk on a lead. He would sit down and sulk and no about of cheese could woo him back onto his feet. Even at his first shows around 7 months old, I was never 100% conifdent that he wouldn't drop his bottom lip and sulk as we trotted around. Still, he must have impressed judges as he began winnings BOBs at his earliest shows, followed up by classes in Group & In Show right through to the Open Class. In December 2004 Huddy won BIS at the Taranaki Non Sporting & Utility Show, followed up by BISS at the March 2005 BMDC Open Show. In September 2007 he came Resv BISS to his 10 year old sire Turi at the BMDC Championship Show in Wellington. In 2009 it was his turn to take best dog from the veteran class. Hudson is as sweet and dreamy a dog as you could ever hope to meet. He is goofy and loving with all people, puppies and pets. He hero-worshipped his dad, Turi and they never had a cross word between them. Hudd is a "sweet-dumb" adonis, but as we always tell him, you don't have to be smart when you're that good looking!
Hudson is not available at stud.
